Liberty Junk Removal's trash removal & disposal is for garbage that has outgrown the bin, at homes and businesses in Johnstown and across Northern Colorado. It falls under garbage collection, along with furniture donation pickup. Think of a garage that slowly filled with bags, or a back room at the shop nobody kept up with. Where a couch job is about one big item, this one is a pile of small things that add up fast.
If the pile has some cardboard or an old bike in it, the list of bagged trash and recyclables shows what else can ride along.
Trash that's been piling up for months can feel embarrassing to photograph. It shouldn't, since a pile like that is exactly what this job is for. Shoot the pile as it sits, because nobody needs to tidy up first. Text a photo to (970) 634-6969.
What goes on the truck
- Bagged household trash
- Loose garbage off the floor
- Torn bags and spilled garbage
- Kitchen garbage bags
- Flattened boxes and packing waste
- Cracked plastic bins
- Scrap metal mixed into the pile
- Old papers and mail
These are the usual pieces on this kind of job, not the whole list.

What's the difference between trash removal and junk removal?
Trash removal is for the garbage itself. Junk removal is built around things, like a dresser or an old washer. A trash job is mostly bags, plus whatever spilled out of them, with some flattened boxes and a cracked plastic bin or two. Bags of leaves are a yard debris removal job, and drywall scraps from a remodel are construction debris removal.
Plenty of piles are a little of both, like twenty bags and a broken patio chair in the garage, or trash in a rental kitchen and a mattress in the back bedroom. It all goes on the same truck. When the furniture outnumbers the bags, the job looks more like an eviction & rental property cleanout or plain junk removal.
How do trash bags get out of a basement or a back room?
Liberty Junk Removal carries them, up the basement stairs or down a narrow hall, and loads the truck. Loose garbage on the floor goes too, so a torn bag or a box that split open isn't yours to fix before they show up.
For a shop storeroom or a rental, the one-hour arrival window with an ETA tells the manager when to have the door unlocked. Once the last bag is on the truck and the floor is clear, a message says the job is done, so the cleaner or the next walk-through can be lined up.
Where does hauled trash end up?
The bulk of a trash load goes to the landfill, because that's what it is. Anything in decent shape gets pulled aside first and taken to Habitat for Humanity or a thrift store. A rusted grill or a bent metal shelf in the pile gets recycled as scrap.
Pulling the good stuff out first matters most on a mixed pile. Say a working lamp and a box of kitchen dishes sit next to the bags. Those can head to a thrift store while the bags go to the landfill.
Can paint cans and chemicals go out with the trash?
Paint is OK on the truck, ideally empty, since a full can carries an extra fee. Gas, diesel and anything medical or biohazard can't go in a trash load. That trips people up on a trash job, because the bags in a garage often have a couple of crusted paint cans and an old jug of bleach cleaner tucked between them. The cans are fine. The cleaner is different, along with other hazardous items. Those can go for an extra fee when you ask ahead.
Pull the cans and jugs away from the bags before you take the picture, or mention them when you send it, so the price covers only what's going. The same goes for a bag with anything medical in it, even when it's buried in regular kitchen garbage. Anything you're not sure about is worth asking over first, while it's still easy to set aside.
How much does it cost to haul away a pile of trash bags?
A trash haul starts at the $125 minimum, and from there the price rises with how much of the truck the bags fill. Six bags by the side door take far less room than a garage stacked to the rafters. The price covers carrying the bags out, the haul and the dump fee at the landfill, and disposal is never billed as its own line.
A photo quote sticks unless the pile turns out bigger than the picture let on. With trash, that could be a few bags tucked in the shed or a second pile out back, so a shot of the whole spread helps.
Does Liberty Junk Removal pick up trash outside Johnstown?
Yes. Home base is Johnstown, in Weld County, and trash pickups reach towns all over Northern Colorado. That means Fort Collins, Greeley, Loveland and Longmont, along with smaller places like Milliken, Severance and Lochbuie. The rest are on the list of Northern Colorado pickup towns.
A shop storeroom in Firestone or a rental in Evans gets loaded the same way as a garage in Johnstown, one bag at a time until the floor shows.
