Town rules in Severance don't allow piles of rubbish on a property, and the town gives examples. Vehicle parts, tires, scrap lumber, construction materials, appliances, leaves and branches are among them. A stack of old fence boards behind the garage counts, and so does the dead washer by the side gate. Liberty Junk Removal can haul both off. Leaf and branch piles go as yard debris removal, and the metal from a heap of old car parts is recycled as scrap.
For 2026 the town replaced curbside collection and a local drop-off site with a Weld County Landfill voucher program. The box on this page covers how the vouchers worked. When Liberty Junk Removal does the job, the old recliner comes out of the spare room and the boxes come out of the garage. A recliner that's still in decent shape goes to Habitat for Humanity or a thrift store first.
Severance is a regular run from the Johnstown base, out to subdivisions like Belmont Farms and Soaring Eagle Ranch, the blocks around Brownell Park in the center of Old Town and the homes near Lakeview Park at the south end of the Lakeview subdivision. After the booking, Liberty Junk Removal keeps you posted until the truck pulls in, and they let you know when the job is done.
