Firestone's Clean Up Day runs over two weekends, split by neighborhood. Weekend one is for neighborhoods including Barefoot Lakes, Booth Farms, Cimarron Point and Historic Firestone, and weekend two is for neighborhoods including Del Ray, Firestone Meadows, Oak Meadows, Owl Lake Estates and Ridgecrest. What Clean Up Day accepts is listed in the box on this page. When your weekend is a long way off and the sleeper sofa is in the way now, Liberty Junk Removal can carry it out of the house and load it themselves.
The town's recycling and disposal guide lists the Front Range Landfill on Weld County Road 5 in Erie as the local landfill. Hauling a recliner there yourself takes a truck and a second pair of hands. Book a pickup instead, and the recliner gets offered for donation if someone could still sit in it. A rusted swing set frame gets recycled as scrap metal, and only the leftover trash goes on to the landfill.
Firestone jobs run out of the Johnstown base, daily from 7 AM to 6 PM. Liberty Junk Removal answers your text or call and books the day, then keeps you posted until the truck arrives inside a one-hour arrival window, with an ETA. When the last piece is loaded they tell you it's finished before driving off. They also cover nearby Erie, plus junk removal in Frederick.
How Clean Up Day works
- Each neighborhood is assigned one of the two weekends.
- Residents only. Commercial waste is not accepted.
- Truck loads with loose materials or debris must be covered.
- Takes cabinets, carpet, chain link fence, concrete, doors, furniture, hot tubs, lumber, mattresses and box springs, microwaves and patio furniture.
- Takes stoves and ovens, washers and dryers, water heaters and yard equipment.
- Does not take refrigerators, freezers, AC units, TVs, monitors, computer towers or other electronics, tires, tree stumps, household hazardous waste or 55 gallon drums.
- Leaves, shrubs and other yard waste must be bagged so they can go straight into the dumpsters.
- Residents are advised to stay in their vehicles until they have checked in and reached the dumpsters.
