Northglenn's code enforcement page is clear about what can't live outside a house. Things not built for outdoor use, like indoor furniture, appliances, carpet and mattresses, can't be stored outside a home. That covers the recliner that got moved out back and the washer parked by the side gate. Liberty Junk Removal can take both in one visit. The washer falls under old appliance removal, and the mattress behind the shed can ride along with it.

Before booking, read the city's Special Pickup program in the box on this page, since it may cover what you have. Northglenn also holds Dumpster Days, a drop-off event where residents can clear out the garage and get rid of old furniture that won't fit in a trash cart. With a drop-off, you load the car and make the drive. People calling about a pickup often expect the same deal, with the pile waiting at the curb and them helping lift. Neither one is needed. Liberty Junk Removal comes inside and carries the dresser down from the upstairs bedroom.

Out in the side yard, leftover lumber from an old project and a stack of empty boxes are on that same code list, since unused construction material and boxes can't be stored outside a home either. They can go on the same load as the recliner. A recliner that still works goes to Habitat for Humanity or a thrift store, and the warped lumber gets taken to the landfill. Liberty Junk Removal covers nearby Broomfield too, and the Broomfield junk removal page has that city's rules.

How Special Pickup works

  • You can have up to 10 bulky items that will not fit in your city trash cart picked up.
  • Your request must be in 48 hours before your scheduled trash day.
  • Do not set items out until the city confirms your pickup.
  • List every item you want taken. Crews only pick up what is on the special pickup ticket.
  • Items must be in the street by 7 a.m. on pickup day.
  • Items on the sidewalk or driveway are not picked up. They have to be in the street.
  • It takes things like furniture, appliances without Freon, exercise and sports gear, lawn care equipment, auto parts, cabinets, doors, windows, bathtubs, sinks and toilets.
  • It does not take bags of trash, refrigerators, freezers or air conditioners, camper shells, construction materials, electronics, fencing, hot tubs, pianos and organs, sheds, or tree branches and yard waste.
  • Broken down cardboard boxes go in your recycle cart, not in a special pickup.

Questions

Questions about junk removal in Northglenn.

Where can old electronics go in Northglenn?
The city tells residents to keep them out of recycle carts and lists businesses that take them. For a heavy old TV or a box of monitors, electronic waste removal gets them out of the house, and they go out as e-waste.
What does a junk removal job in Northglenn cost?
The floor is $125. Past that, the price depends on how much truck space the load fills, so one washer from the side yard costs far less than a packed garage. That covers loading the truck, the drive away and the dump fees. The junk removal cost guide has the rest.
How soon can Liberty Junk Removal get to a Northglenn home?
A Northglenn pickup is usually the next day. Same day when the schedule allows.
What won't Liberty Junk Removal haul out of a Northglenn garage?
Gas, diesel and medical or biohazard waste stay off the truck. Paint rides along. Full cans add a fee. The city's special waste page sends residents to outside drop-off locations for paint, household chemicals and fuel. The old shelving and the boxes stacked beside the paint cans go too.
Does Northglenn trash pickup take old car batteries?
Yes. The city collects up to two automotive batteries per week on your scheduled trash pick-up day, set next to the trash cart in the street and not inside it.
