Liberty Junk Removal does construction debris removal in Johnstown and across Northern Colorado. A build leaves a pile behind, like drywall offcuts in the garage, lumber ends stacked along the side yard and the cardboard the new cabinets came in. The call usually comes from a homeowner or a contractor once the build is done. This kind of pile is heavier than a household load and full of nails and screws. It also tends to land in one heap that nobody wants to sort.

It usually shows up all at once, right when you need the garage or the driveway back. Construction debris is what's left after building something new, like an addition or a finished basement. Remodel leftovers, like old cabinets and broken tile pulled out of a kitchen, go out the same way, and a photo of the whole heap covers the mix. It's one of three jobs under debris removal service, with yard debris and general debris as the others.

What goes on the truck

  • Drywall scraps and offcuts
  • Lumber offcuts and framing ends
  • Leftover trim and flooring
  • Cabinet and fixture packaging
  • Bent brackets and scrap metal
  • Bags of job-site trash
  • Cabinets and doors never installed

These are the usual pieces on this kind of job, not the whole list.

From the full list of what goes on the truck: construction, remodel and yard debris.

What's usually in a construction debris pile?

Mostly offcuts and scraps from the build itself. Drywall ends, framing lumber cut too short to use, leftover trim, flooring scraps and the plastic wrap from new windows all go together, so you don't need to split the lumber from the drywall first. The drywall and the lumber usually take the most room on the truck, and that room is what sets the price. The guide to job-site scraps and build leftovers shows more of what fits.

If you just finished a basement yourself, the pile tends to sit in the driveway until somebody deals with it. If you're a contractor or a property manager closing out a job, the leftovers have to be gone before the final walkthrough.

How much does construction debris removal cost?

The minimum is $125, and a bigger build pile is priced by the space it fills on the truck. Scraps from one room take up less space than a driveway full of framing ends from an addition, so they cost less. Loading, hauling and disposal are part of the quote, which means dump fees are never billed on top. The price comes from your photo, or from an in-person look.

A good photo matters more on a build pile than on a household load, because debris gets stacked behind things. So step back for a wide shot, then add whatever is leaning behind the garage door or stacked down the side of the house.

Does Liberty Junk Removal take leftover paint and chemicals from a build?

Paint, yes. Leftover paint gets loaded, with empty cans preferred and an extra fee on full ones, and gas, diesel and medical or biohazard waste stay off the truck. On a build that comes up more than usual, because half-used cans of primer and jugs of cleaner end up in the same pile as the drywall. Any fuel container has to come out of the heap before loading starts. The cleaner jugs and any other hazardous leftovers need a heads-up first, and they go for an extra fee.

The easy fix is to pull the fuel containers and cleaner jugs out before you take the photo. Paint cans can stay in it. Then the quote counts only the scraps that are really leaving, and nobody has to pick through the heap when the truck shows up. If something in the pile has you unsure, send a close-up of it with your text and ask ahead of time.

Do you have to stack construction debris at the curb for pickup?

No. The debris can stay down in the basement or behind the garage until the truck arrives. Liberty Junk Removal handles the stairs and the long carry from the backyard, and you don't need to help load. Leave the drywall stacked wherever it's out of your way while you finish up.

Your text or call gets a reply, and the job is booked once you've seen the quote. If the site has a gate code, or the debris sits behind a locked door, put that in your first text so the pickup isn't held up.

Where does construction debris go after it's hauled off?

Leftover material that's still good goes to donation first. A spare door that never got hung, or a cabinet that never made it onto the wall, can go to Habitat for Humanity or a thrift store if it's in good shape. Bent brackets and cut lengths of metal pipe count as scrap metal, and scrap metal gets recycled.

Drywall ends, splintered framing and bags of job-site trash can't be donated or recycled, so they go to the landfill, along with the packaging nobody can use. None of that sorting is yours to do. Once any fuel and medical waste are out of the pile, the rest goes on the truck as it is, and each part gets sent where it belongs.

Does Liberty Junk Removal pick up construction debris outside Johnstown?

Yes. Home base is Johnstown, a Weld County town, and build leftovers get picked up from job sites around Northern Colorado. That takes in Fort Collins, Greeley, Loveland, Longmont and Broomfield, plus smaller places like Milliken and Severance.
